| What I do: l work in a metro Emergency Dept. as a tech and as a patient clerk. In one position I'm running around transporting, cleaning wounds, moving patients from ambulance gurneys to bed and hooking patients up to monitors, drawing blood, inserting catheters, and other fun and less than fun things. As a clerk I'm at a desk for the whole shift, so my feet are happier, but there's alot more multi-tasking; there's a phone ringing, orders to be put in, doctors wanting stuff, patients calling out, and visitors and families coming to the desk to ask questions. I like both and dislike both enough to keep doing both rather than one or the other. I'm applying to schools around here to get my last two years done and finally get my Bachelor's of Nursing. (BSN) Outside of work I'm on the computer alot, I play video games, spend time with my cats and boyfriend, and paint miniatures. |
